July 4th Holiday three day ride

This year we’re heading up toward Monterey and back along the Pacific Coast Highway, (US 1). To get there we’ll travel along some of our favorite roads ending up in King City, on Friday the 4th.  Departure will be from the Starbucks at the Northeast corner of Topanga Canyon Blvd and Ventura Blvd, just south of the 101, in Woodland Hills.  Plan on kick-stand up at 8:30 so if you want coffee arrive early.  Remember be sure to have a full tank of gas, (there is a station right across the street from the Starbucks), as our next fuel stop won’t be for over 100 miles.

In King City we’ll stay at the King City Inn, (formerly Best Western King City Inn), as this is a holiday weekend you should make your reservations early, (King City Inn 1190 Broadway St King City, CA 93930 831-385-6733).  Rooms with one king bed are $79 and with 2 queen beds $89.  We’ve reserved a block of rooms for the Club.  These rooms have been guaranteed by the Club so when you reserve ask to convert one of the BMW Club rooms into your name, ask for Nina

On Saturday, July 5th, we’ll visit Pinnacles National Monument, lunch in Monterey and then cruise down Highway 1 to our second night in Santa Maria.  In Santa Maria we’ll stay at the Comfort Inn, (210 Nicholson Ave. Santa Maria, CA 93454 805-922-5891).  We have a special rate of $116 for rooms with 2 queen or 1 king bed so be sure to ask for the BMW Club group rate.

Sunday, July 6th, you’ll only be about 130 miles from the start point in Woodland Hills so those who live further away will still be home at a reasonable hour on Sunday.  For those who haven’t had enough riding we plan on making a detour over to Highway 33 and down into Ojai and onto Ventura before picking up 101.

NOTE: The Club will cancel any unreserved rooms at both hotels on June 25th so reserve early.
